The program is conceived as a selective curatorial process, culminating in a 10-day curated presentation developed in dialogue with the gallery space and its broader context.

The BUAT Curatorial Award is designed to identify and present a distinct artistic voice through a focused curatorial approach.
This free open call is part of the gallery’s selective contemporary program and is open to international artists.

Initial Eligibility Review
All submissions are first reviewed by the BUAT FINE ART curatorial team for eligibility, coherence and relevance to the Award programme.
Preselected Applicants Announcement
Applicants who pass the initial review may be announced on the BUAT FINE ART website and through the gallery’s official social media channels.
Shortlist 5 Artists
Five artists are selected from the preselected applicant pool and publicly announced as the official shortlist of the Award.

One artist is selected from the shortlist as the winner of BUAT Curatorial Award.

Selection is conducted independently of any optional documents from BUAT Curatorial Support.
Requesting a Curatorial Report or Curatorial Essay does not affect the chances of being shortlisted or selected.
As part of BUAT Curatorial Award, applicants may request selected documents from BUAT Curatorial Support at a special Award applicant rate.
This opportunity is available only within the Award programme and is intended for artists who would like to receive a professional written perspective on their submitted work, its structure, positioning and public presentation.
These rates are available exclusively within the BUAT Curatorial Award programme. Outside the Award, standard BUAT Curatorial Support fees apply.
